AFP is looking for a driven anglophone reporter for its Warsaw Bureau starting in January 2023. Candidates must speak fluent Polish and have some experience in journalism. French is helpful but not essential, as are other languages from the region such as Ukrainian, Belarusian or Russian.
Working together with another anglophone journalist and two francophone journalists, you will cover news, enterprise and feature stories from Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and the Baltic states of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia with the help of our network of stringers.
THE JURY OF THE 20TH PRIX BAYEUX-CALVADOS AWARDS FOR WAR CORRESPONDENTS HAS REWARDED TWO PHOTO-REPORTERS AND ONE VIDEO-JOURNALIST FOR THEIR WORK IN SYRIA WITH AFP.
In addition to the atypical World Cup period (organized winter rather than summer), this global competition also presented editorial, technological and sporting challenges.
AFPTV is offering an exciting opportunity to operate as a video producer in London.
You will work on the very busy Africa desk and help other desks when needed, especially the Europe one located in the same office.
Among other tasks, you will turn round videos for clients, compile packages of b-roll and file footage, source UGC and videos from external providers, cut from live feeds and help adapt videos into English and French, as well as create videos ready to publish, mainly for digital clients.
Fast-paced and exciting, the job involves a mix of reporting and editing both news and feature videos. Reporting to the Lagos video coordinator, bureau chief and news editor, and in close cooperation with the Africa desk in London, you will help to run and coordinate the video coverage throughout West and Central Africa.
